Luxury Experiences in Marrakech for Villa Guests

The luxury experiences in Marrakech we arrange most often for villa guests are a private hot-air balloon at sunrise, a private dinner in the Agafay desert, a chef’s cooking class in the villa kitchen and a private guided tour of the medina. Around them, Marrakech offers golf on a dozen courses, hammams and massages, Atlas days with lunch at a kasbah and horse riding in the Palmeraie, which we are happy to look into for you. This guide explains what each one involves, how long it takes and what it costs where prices are published.
In short
- We book guided tours, cooking classes, Agafay afternoons and dinners, quad and buggy rides, balloon flights and camel rides, and we organise private events in villas.
- Private balloon flights exist: Ciel d’Afrique runs private baskets with a dedicated pilot, from two passengers; prices depend on the date and basket, so ask us for a quote.
- Several of our villas have their own hammam and massage room, so a spa afternoon can happen without leaving the house.
- For golf tee times, horse riding or a therapist at the villa, ask us: we tell you what is possible for your dates.
What we arrange, and what we look into for you
We are a villa rental and events agency, not a tour operator, so it helps to be precise. For guests staying in our villas, we book the activities on our activities page: guided tours of the city, cooking classes, afternoons and dinners in the Agafay desert, quad and buggy rides, hot-air balloon flights and camel rides. We also organise private events, from birthdays to weddings, and our villas come with staff, as listed on each villa’s page.
Everything else in this guide is generally available in Marrakech, and we say so plainly. When you ask us about golf, a riding morning or a massage therapist, we check what can be done on your dates and come back to you; we do not promise what we have not confirmed.
Send us your dates, the number of guests and the two or three experiences that matter most. Balloon flights and sunset dinners in Agafay are the first to fill between October and April.
In the air and in the desert

A private hot-air balloon at sunrise
Balloon flights leave at dawn from the plains north of the city, towards the Jbilet hills, and drift for 40 to 60 minutes over Berber villages, with the Atlas on the horizon on clear mornings. The shared version puts up to 16 or 20 passengers in one basket. For a couple or a family, the private version is a different experience: Ciel d’Afrique lists a Top VIP flight in a private balloon with a dedicated pilot and ground crew, and a Royal flight that adds a seated breakfast by Bacha Coffee, both from two people.
A private basket costs several times a shared seat, and the operator does not publish its prices online, so we quote it for your date and group. With the pre-dawn pick-up from the villa, tea, breakfast and the drive back, count about four and a half hours. We book it for your first or second morning, so that a wind cancellation can be moved. More detail in our balloon guide.
A private dinner in the Agafay desert
Agafay is a stony desert of bare hills about an hour south-west of Marrakech, with no dunes but a wide, silent landscape and the High Atlas behind it. The classic plan is an afternoon of camel, quad or buggy riding, then sunset and dinner at a camp. For a proposal, an anniversary or a birthday, we can privatise a restaurant in Agafay so the evening is yours alone.
What makes it private is the setting rather than a set menu: your own table or your own camp, the light going down over the hills, and a driver waiting to take you back to the villa. Dress warmly from November to March, when desert nights are cold. Options compared in Agafay day trips and camps.
At the villa: a chef’s class, a hammam and a massage

A chef’s cooking class in your kitchen
A chef comes to the villa with the ingredients and cooks Moroccan specialities with the whole group in your own kitchen: a tagine, salads, perhaps a pastilla. Nobody has to cross the city, children can join in, and the class ends with the meal you have cooked, served by the pool. If you prefer a school, we also book classes in the medina, at addresses such as La Maison Arabe or Café Clock.
Several of our villas list a cook or chef among their staff for the whole stay: see staffed villas and why book a villa with a private chef.
Hammam and massage without leaving the house
Several villas have their own spa. Villa Hazel in the Palmeraie has a Moroccan hammam for two and a massage room. Villa Athena, on the Route d’Amizmiz, has a heated hammam with individual and couples’ massage rooms. At Villa Azarenka, the hammam comes with a two-bed massage room and specialist staff by appointment.
Where a villa does not list its own therapists, ask us and we see what can be arranged; otherwise Marrakech has excellent spas a short drive away. Read couples’ hammam and spa in Marrakech before you choose.

Golf tee times on a dozen courses
Marrakech has twelve courses listed by the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation, most within 30 minutes of the medina, from the Royal Golf, opened in 1927 and shaded by 15,000 trees, to Nicklaus Design’s Samanah and the 27 holes of Amelkis. In 2026, published green fees for 18 holes run from 600 to 1,400 dirhams, and a caddie is compulsory on every Moroccan course, paid on top.
If you would like tee times, ask us with your handicaps and preferred days and we look into it. The season runs from October to April; morning rounds are the norm in spring. Course by course: golf in Marrakech. To wake up on the course, choose one of our golf villas on the Amelkis, Al Maaden or Samanah estates.
The medina and the Atlas with a private guide
A private guided tour of the medina
A private guide changes the medina: no group to wait for, a pace set by you, and the history behind the souks, the Bahia Palace, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, the Mellah and the Saadian Tombs. A half-day covers either the north or the south of the old city; a full day covers both. Entry tickets are paid on top, 100 dirhams per foreign adult at the Bahia, El Badi and the Saadian Tombs in 2026, and mosques, including the Koutoubia, are seen from outside only.
A day in the Atlas with lunch at a kasbah
The same guide can take you into the Atlas valleys for a walk and a long lunch in the mountains. Imlil, the village below Toubkal, is about 65 km from Marrakech, roughly an hour and a half by road, and the Kasbah du Toubkal above it is open daily to non-residents for lunch; book a day or two ahead. Ask us to build the day around it. Routes and timings in our Atlas Mountains day trip guide.

Horse riding and other requests
Stables around Marrakech run guided rides through the Palmeraie, among its palms and along the Oued Issil, as well as longer outings in Agafay and the Ourika valley; ponies and gentle rides exist for children. It is not on our activities list, so ask us and we tell you what is available for your dates and level. Read horse riding near Marrakech first.
The same applies to anything else you have in mind, from a musician for dinner to a celebration with a hundred guests: our events team works with villas and estates around the city.
The best luxury in Marrakech is time arranged around you: a balloon basket for your group alone, a guide at your pace, dinner where no one else is.

Frequently asked questions
Can you book a private hot-air balloon in Marrakech?
Yes. Ciel d’Afrique offers private balloons with a dedicated pilot and ground crew, from two passengers, including a Royal flight with a seated breakfast. Prices depend on the date and the basket, so ask us for a quote. The flight lasts 40 to 60 minutes at sunrise; the outing takes about four and a half hours.
What luxury experiences does Unlimited Marrakech arrange?
For guests in our villas we book guided tours, cooking classes including a chef at the villa, Agafay afternoons and dinners, quad and buggy rides, balloon flights and camel rides, and we organise private events. For golf, horse riding or a massage therapist, ask us and we check what is possible for your dates.
Can we have a hammam and massage in the villa?
In several villas, yes. Villa Hazel has a hammam for two and a massage room, Villa Athena a heated hammam with couples’ massage rooms, and Villa Azarenka a hammam and massage room with specialist staff by appointment. Elsewhere, ask us, or book one of the city’s spas a short drive away.
Is a private dinner in the Agafay desert worth it?
For a proposal, an anniversary or a birthday, it is one of the most memorable evenings you can spend near Marrakech. Agafay is about an hour from the city; you arrive for an afternoon ride, watch the sun set over the hills and dine at your own table or in a privatised restaurant, with a driver to take you home.
How much is a round of golf in Marrakech?
In 2026, published visitor green fees for 18 holes range from 600 to 1,400 dirhams depending on the course and season, and a caddie is compulsory on every course in Morocco, paid on top. Most of the twelve courses are within 30 minutes of the medina; the season runs from October to April.
Luxury in Marrakech is rarely about one grand gesture; it is a sunrise balloon on the second morning, a slow lunch in the Atlas, dinner by the pool cooked by people who know you by name. Tell us how you like to spend your days, and we will suggest the villa and the experiences that fit, and book the ones we arrange ourselves.
