What “near the centre” means in Marrakech
A private villa with a garden and pool almost never stands inside the medina walls: the old city is made of riads. The villas closest to the centre of Marrakech sit in three belts around it: the Majorelle and Four Seasons side at 5 minutes, the Palmeraie at 10 to 15, and the golf estates to the south at 14 to 15 minutes, according to each listing.
Nine villas make this selection, from 3 to 22 bedrooms and from €450 to €4,800 a night. Short drives change the shape of a stay: dinner in town and back by the pool the same evening, a morning in the souks without losing the afternoon.

The three belts around the centre
Majorelle and the Four Seasons, 5 minutes
The most urban choice. Villa Arwa is a 1950s house redesigned by the architect Roger Herrera, in a quiet street near the Majorelle garden, with a panoramic terrace and an 8 x 3 m pool. Villa Four Seasons stands within the Four Seasons Marrakech, with access to hotel services and a concierge.
The Palmeraie, 10 to 15 minutes

Choosing
Who a central villa suits, and who it does not

- Evenings out. Restaurants, rooftops and dinner shows are a short taxi ride away: restaurants with a show.
- First visits. The medina, the palaces and the Majorelle garden can be done in half-days: places to visit in Marrakech.
- Golf and city together. Villa Harmony, Villa Deluxe Almaaden and Villa Asana combine both.
If what you want most is wide Atlas views, total silence and a large estate, a countryside address such as the Route de l’Ourika or the Atlas foothills gives more land for the money, at 25 minutes or more from town.

Getting into town
