From November to March, yes, if you want to swim rather than look at the water. Afternoons are pleasant, with average highs of 19 to 24 °C, but nights fall to 6 to 8 °C in midwinter and an unheated pool stays cold all day.
From May to October the sun does the work and heating makes little difference. April and the first half of November are the grey zone: warm days, cool nights, and a pool that is comfortable for the hardy and chilly for children. If you travel then, ask for heating anyway; the listings do not say whether it costs extra, so ask for a quote that includes it.

Picking a heated-pool villa for a winter stay
- Golf and swimming: Villa Harmony, Villa Inocencia and Villa Perla stand on the Amelkis golf, 15 to 20 minutes from the centre; Villa Eva looks over Samanah from its roof-terrace sky bar. See golf in Marrakech.
- Close to the medina: Villa Nolan, 15 minutes away, and Villa Aria, 18 minutes, both in the Palmeraie.
- Real lengths, not a plunge: Villa Azarenka’s 18 m square, Olive Palace’s 28 m infinity pool and Villa Andalucía’s semi-Olympic pool.
- Quiet countryside: Villa Mangue, 40 minutes out in a one-hectare estate, whose pool is heated all year, and Villa Petra, with Atlas views from its terrace.

Four checks for a winter booking
Heated, or heated on request
The first eight villas in the table list a heated pool; for the last six the pool is heated on request. Either way, name your dates and ask for heating from the day you arrive, with the cost written into the quote.
Warm rooms, too
Nights of 6 °C matter as much as the water. Many of these houses list fireplaces or reversible air conditioning; Villa Nolan adds auxiliary heaters, and Villa Mansouria has fireplaces in its library, its living room and two of its bedroom suites.
Daylight hours
In December the sun sets before 6 p.m., so the best swimming is from late morning to mid-afternoon. A pool facing south or open to the sun all day, like Villa Aria’s on its south-facing terrace, gets the most warmth.

The listing of Villa Mangue says its pool is heated all year round, and that of Villa Eva that its heated pool can be used throughout the year. For the other villas, ask for your dates.
Is heating included in the price?
The listings do not say. Ask for a quote that includes pool heating for your dates.
