Amelkis: a residential golf estate on the Route de Ouarzazate
Amelkis is a private golf estate at km 12 on the Route de Ouarzazate, south-east of Marrakech: 27 holes laid out by Cabell B. Robinson, with private houses along the fairways. It is where we have the most golf villas, five of them, and some of the best value per bedroom in our catalogue.

The estate
What it is like to stay in Amelkis
Amelkis is a quiet residential estate built around its golf course rather than a resort with a lobby. The course is one of the most technical in the city: hilly, with lakes and red-earth hazards, and three loops of nine that you can combine differently each day. In 2026 the visitor fee is 950 dirhams for 18 holes and 550 for nine, plus the compulsory caddie.
Four of the five listings describe modern, contemporary houses with large windows and open living spaces; Villa Idir is the exception, Arab-Andalusian around two patios. Plots run from 1,000 to 2,200 m² according to the listings. Unlike the Palmeraie, plots are measured in hundreds of square metres, not hectares, and the neighbours are other villas.

Read the bathroom count
Four of the five villas have one bathroom per bedroom. At Villa Inocencia, two bedrooms share a bathroom, which works for children or siblings but less well for two couples. Villa Idir’s bathrooms each have a dressing room, a shower, a bathtub and separate toilets.

Golfers
Villa Idir is on the front line of the course, with a cook for breakfasts and meals. Villa Harmony, on the course, has views over the golf and the mountains, and a jacuzzi for the evening.
Families with children
Villa Idir’s four suites are single-storey, as its listing puts it. Villa Venus has a basement lounge the listing suggests as a playroom, and Villa Harmony a ping-pong table. See also our family villa guide.

Villa Perla gives each couple a suite with a dressing room, plus two separate lounges. At Villa Venus, three upstairs bedrooms open onto private terraces facing the Atlas, and there is a summer kitchen by the pool.

Around Amelkis
The listings put a supermarket 9 to 10 minutes away and a cinema 10 minutes from Villa Idir. The medina is 15 to 20 minutes by car, close enough to go in for dinner and come back the same evening.
