Villa with a Tennis Court in Marrakech for Active Groups

A villa with a tennis court in Marrakech is rare: in our catalogue of 38 Marrakech villas, four listings mention a court. Villa Azarenka, Domaine Beldi and Villa Savannah have a clay court on site, and Villa Lucia’s listing puts its estate’s court at guests’ disposal. Starting prices run from €750 to €4,800 a night.

This guide is for groups who want to move on holiday: friends planning a tennis week, families with sporty teenagers, company retreats that want a morning session before the meetings. It sets out what each listing says about its court, which other villas have a court a few minutes away, and which houses have a gym, a yoga studio, a pétanque court, a ping-pong table or a pool long enough to swim laps. Every villa fact is taken from that villa’s own listing on this site; where a listing is silent, we say so. Prices are starting prices per night for the whole villa, and the price for your dates depends on the season.

Want the houses first? Browse all our villas in Marrakech, or send your dates and the sports you want through our contact page.

  • Clay is the only surface named. Azarenka, Domaine Beldi and Savannah all describe a clay court; Villa Lucia’s listing does not give the surface.
  • Villa Lucia is the only five-bedroom house with a court, from €750. The next option, Domaine Beldi, starts at €3,000 and has 20 bedrooms.
  • Seven more listings give the distance to tennis, from 3 to 20 minutes (one gives 20 km), in their “Proximities” block.
  • Five listings mention a gym or fitness room, five a pétanque court and five a ping-pong table. None mentions padel.

Villa Lucia: a five-bedroom house with the estate’s court

Villa Lucia on the Route de Fès has five suites, each with a dressing room and a private bathroom, a living room with a fireplace and a dining room for 10. Its listing reads like a day plan for an active group: a dip in the infinity pool early in the morning, “a workout in the home gym”, dinner “prepared by the villa’s chef”, then a film on the video projector. It adds a private hammam and says that “the tennis court of the domain is at your disposal”. The court belongs to the estate the villa is part of, so ask us whether it is shared with other houses and how it is booked. The pool is heated on request. The listing gives 25 minutes to the centre and 35 to the airport. At €750 a night, it is by far the most affordable way into this list.

Domaine Beldi: the games estate

Domaine Beldi on the Route de Ouarzazate is an estate rather than a single house: twelve suites with their own bathrooms, an apartment with three double bedrooms, and a five-bedroom villa with its own pool. For leisure, the listing names “a clay tennis court, a ping-pong table, a billiards table, a petanque court, and a foosball table”, in addition to two outdoor pools. Extra services include car rental or a chauffeur, a babysitter and traditional Moroccan evenings. It is 30 minutes from the centre and 15 from a golf course, according to the listing. From €3,000 a night for 20 bedrooms, it suits a family reunion where some play and others watch.

Villa Azarenka: the training camp

Villa Azarenka, 30 km south of Marrakech on the Route de l’Ourika, is the most complete sports set-up in our catalogue. Its listing says it “can comfortably accommodate 18 people in its 4 master suites and 7 garden villas”, and lists a “clay tennis court with clubhouse and shower”, a “200m² fitness center, including gymnasium/yoga studio (80m²)”, a relaxation patio and changing rooms with a shower, and an 18 m × 18 m heated stone pool. After the match there is a traditional hammam, a massage room with two beds and a billiards room with a three-quarter-size English table. The house team can arrange “massages, hammams, yoga lessons and tennis lessons”. A head chef cooks “catering to all diets”, which matters for a group in training, and the staff includes a manager who speaks English, German and French, a butler, three maids, gardeners and night guards. The price of that seclusion is distance: 48 minutes to the centre and 45 to the airport. Our page of villas on the Route de l’Ourika shows its neighbours.

Villa Savannah: a private hotel estate

Villa Savannah in the Palmeraie works more like a private hotel than a house: 22 accommodations on 18,000 m², from deluxe rooms of 35 m² with private terraces to an independent villa of more than 110 m² with its own pool and garden. The listing names “the high-tech gym and the clay tennis court”, a spa with hammams, massage rooms and a 6-metre jacuzzi, and a chef serving Moroccan or international cuisine by the pool, in the restaurants, in a Berber tent or in your suite. The listing gives 7 minutes to a golf course and 30 to the airport. From €4,800 a night, it fits a large group that wants hotel-style service on a private estate.

Is there a villa with a padel court in Marrakech?

Not in our catalogue. None of our 38 Marrakech listings mentions padel, and we would rather say so than send you to a house that does not have one. If padel is the point of the trip, tell us when you contact us: the agency’s concierge helps guests with activities and outings during their stay, and we will tell you honestly what we can and cannot arrange around the villa you choose.

Villas with tennis a few minutes away

If two or three sessions in the week are enough, a court nearby widens the choice a lot. Seven more listings give a distance to tennis in their “Proximities” block. The listings do not name the club or say whether it is open to visitors, so ask us which court it is and how booking works.

  • Villa Four Seasons: 3 minutes. Five bedrooms inside the Four Seasons Marrakech resort, from €2,000.
  • Villa Lyla: 5 minutes. Four bedrooms on one level on the Route de l’Ourika, with a cook, from €712.
  • Villa Andalucía: 8 minutes. Ten bedrooms on the Route de l’Ourika, from €2,051, and an active group’s house in its own right (see below).
  • Villa Arwa: 10 minutes. Four bedrooms near the Majorelle garden, 5 minutes from the centre, from €1,280.
  • Villa Tamar: 20 minutes. Six bedrooms in the Palmeraie, from €1,250.
  • Villa Inocencia: 20 minutes. Four bedrooms on the Amelkis golf estate, heated pool, from €800.
  • Villa Perla: the listing gives “Tennis: 20 KM”. Five suites on a golf estate, with a hammam and a small gym, from €650.

What else can an active group do at the villa?

Tennis is one sport. The listings mention plenty of others, and some of the best-equipped houses for an active group have no court at all.

Gym, fitness and yoga

Five listings mention a gym or fitness room: Villa Azarenka (200 m² fitness centre with a gym and yoga studio), Villa Savannah (high-tech gym), Villa Andalucía (fitness room), Villa Perla (“a small gym”) and Villa Lucia (home gym). Two of them start under €1,000: Perla at €650 and Lucia at €750. Only Azarenka mentions yoga, with a studio and lessons on request; our guide to yoga and wellness retreats in a Marrakech villa covers the rest.

Pétanque, ping-pong, billiards and the rest

  • Pétanque (5): Villa Mansouria, Domaine Beldi, Villa Nolan, Villa Andalucía and Villa Luna, the only five-bedroom house of the five, from €750.
  • Ping-pong (5): Villa Mansouria, Villa Harmony (five bedrooms, from €650), Domaine Beldi, Villa Nolan and Villa Andalucía.
  • Billiards (3): Domaine Beldi, Villa Azarenka and Villa Andalucía. Domaine Beldi also has a foosball table.
  • Volleyball, badminton and a putting green: only Villa Andalucía.

A pool for laps, not just for floating

Most villa pools are made for cooling off. If some of your group want to swim lengths, these listings give a size or a shape that allows it: Villa Azarenka (18 m × 18 m, heated), Villa Andalucía (a heated “semi-Olympic” pool), Villa Zagora (25 metres), Olive Palace (a 28-metre infinity pool, heated on request), Villa Grace (17 m × 8 m) and Villa Asana (17 m × 6 m, from 20 cm to 1.80 m deep). Our villas with a heated pool page lists every heated pool in the catalogue.

For the children of an active group

Villa Nolan in the Palmeraie lists a children’s area, a large trampoline, a slide and outdoor swings, as well as ping-pong, a pétanque field and two swimming pools listed at 61 m², one of them heated. Domaine Beldi offers a babysitter as an extra service. See also our guide to a family villa in Marrakech with kids.

Recovery and evenings in

After sport comes the hammam. Villa Andalucía has “a real private cinema room” as well as a hammam and a massage room; Villa Arwa has a home cinema lounge; Villa Lucia has a video projector. Villa Andalucía is worth a closer look for any active group: six luxurious suites “accommodating 12 to 15 people” in the main house, plus La Granada, an optional pavilion with four more bedrooms for 8 to 10 guests, a fitness room, a putting green, pétanque, ping-pong, a volleyball and badminton net, a heated semi-Olympic pool, a permanent staff with a kitchen team, and a tennis court 8 minutes away according to its listing.

When is it too hot to play tennis in Marrakech?

Outdoor sport in Marrakech is a matter of months and hours. The WMO climate normals for Marrakech-Menara (1991-2020) give these average daily maximum and minimum temperatures (NOAA/NCEI, WMO normals):

Months Average daily maximum Average daily minimum
December, January, February 20.1 °C, 19.1 °C, 20.7 °C 7.3 °C, 5.9 °C, 7.6 °C
March, April, May 23.6 °C, 25.7 °C, 29.4 °C 10.3 °C, 12.4 °C, 15.2 °C
June, July, August 33.6 °C, 37.7 °C, 37.4 °C 17.9 °C, 20.6 °C, 21.1 °C
September, October, November 32.5 °C, 28.5 °C, 23.1 °C 18.6 °C, 15.7 °C, 10.7 °C

From October to May, average afternoon highs stay between about 19 °C and 29 °C, comfortable for tennis at most hours; in winter, mornings are cool, so a heated pool helps after the session. From June to September, highs average 32 °C to 38 °C, so plan matches early in the morning or in the evening, and keep the middle of the day for the pool and the shade. Our guides to Marrakech in July and the weather month by month go further.

Beyond the villa: golf, riding and the Atlas

Active groups rarely stay home all week. Golf is the most common outing: the listings give 7 minutes from Villa Savannah to a golf course and 15 from Domaine Beldi, and our page on golf in Marrakech and our comparison of the best golf courses in Marrakech help you choose; our golf villas sit on the courses themselves. For days out, see our guides to horse riding near Marrakech and an Atlas Mountains day trip, and our activities page.

Which villa suits which active group?

  • Six to ten friends on a budget: Villa Lucia (court, gym, hammam, chef, from €750). For pétanque and a hammam without a court, Villa Luna (from €750).
  • A company retreat with a wellness programme: Villa Azarenka, for the fitness centre, the yoga studio and a multilingual manager. Our corporate retreat planning guide covers the rest.
  • A family reunion with every age: Domaine Beldi (court, games, babysitter) or Villa Nolan (children’s area, no court).
  • A large group of sporty friends without a court of their own: Villa Andalucía, with the court 8 minutes away.
  • A large group that wants hotel service: Villa Savannah.

What to ask before booking a villa for its court

A listing tells you that a court exists. Before you pay, ask us to check with the owner:

  1. Is the court private to the villa, or shared with other houses on the estate?
  2. Is it lit for evening play, which matters from June to September?
  3. Are rackets and balls provided, or should you bring your own?
  4. Can a coach come to the villa, and at what price?
  5. Is the pool heating included for your dates, if you travel between November and March?

Our villas have a minimum stay of three nights. Under the agency’s terms there is no free cancellation period, and our article on deposits, contracts and cancellation explains what to check. When you are ready, send us your dates, the size of the group and the sports you want through our contact page.
